Sulfasalazine combines sulfapyridine and 5-aminosalicylic acid and is used in ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis, typically as plain or enteric-coated tablets.
It is a bright yellow to brownish-yellow powder supplied to pharmacopoeia standards.
