Overview
VAM polymerises into polyvinyl acetate, the base of white glues and many emulsion paints, and copolymerises with ethylene into EVA and VAE. It is also the route to polyvinyl alcohol.
It is a flammable liquid supplied inhibited (usually with hydroquinone) to prevent polymerisation in storage.
