Overview
Long-chain fatty alcohols add body and a soft feel to creams and conditioners. Shorter chains such as lauryl alcohol are sulphated or ethoxylated into surfactants including SLS, SLES and alcohol ethoxylates.
They are supplied as liquids (C12–C14) or flakes (C16–C18).
