Overview
Ethoxylating lauryl alcohol gives non-ionic surfactants that clean well, tolerate hard water and are readily biodegradable. Degrees from 2 to 23 moles cover oil-soluble emulsifiers to water-soluble detergents.
Low-mole grades are also sulphated to make SLES; lauryl alcohol itself is supplied for this purpose.
