Overview
Low-molecular PEGs are liquids used as humectants and solvents; higher ones are waxy solids used as ointment bases, tablet binders and lubricants. They are non-volatile, non-toxic and highly water soluble.
They are also used in textiles, ceramics, rubber and as intermediates for PEG esters.
